What if Neku with Eri's help tries to make Shiki a new outfit but it ends up badly but despite that Shiki loves it anyway.

Hmm…I think realistically when you know your wife is an expert in textile work the thought of you, who has barely a passing knowledge of clothes-making, making anything that could potentially impress her yourself would be out of your mind, and let’s be real we often give gifts to people in order to impress them. Plus what I think that Neku (the former cynic and now realist guy) would think first about the idea of making an outfit for Shiki is Shiki would likely have plenty of criticisms to his craft (because she takes it seriously) once he, an ameteur, tries his hands on it, and at best would likely fake that she loves the result in order not to hurt his feelings and likely won’t end up wearing it (she’d probably just hang it as decoration at most) Unfortunately, fashion is her domain and it’s out of his territory and he’d likely be aware of it.

What he can do to impress her however, is doing something simpler like probably making plushies or accessories for her to wear, the latter especially where he can take advantage of his artistry, like designing a bag where Mr Mew got to show off with maybe-Godzilla or smth like that.

asks neshiki sometimes think about how Neku isn't the most idealistic guy around he'll likely be savvy enough to find other ways to impress her

Well don't just leave us hanging. What did they do?

The story took place in an AU where A New Day never happens and Neku and Shiki are the same age and attended the same high school.

Sometime after their graduation ceremony, Neku took Shiki to his place (something he rarely did because he had issues with his father) they watched a few movies and then got reminded that soon, they will become roommates and rent their own apartment once they go to university (Neku had always dreamed to escape his household and live on his own because of his aforementioned issues with his father) he then reminisced how, before the game, he used to stay cooped up in this very same place and even became sick of it. It was either his room or udagawa. He’d longed to escape from here for a long time, to finally live far away from his father, and he was now so close…but of course, something he didn’t expect was how he would have someone with him. Living with him. He jokingly wished out loud that Shiki wouldn’t mind sharing the same roof with him, in which she replied that of course she wouldn’t mind…especially since it would allow her to crawl on his lap any day she wanted…

Things get a little steamy right there and then before the door burst open to reveal Neku’s drunk father, who began throwing things inside the room and asking Shiki to get out.

this idea is more for a comic admittedly... probably a not safe for work one... asks

I think sometimes, for a little while in the aftermath of NEO, Neku might feel so happy, especially around his friends, that he abruptly goes quiet. He's in a kind of quiet shock to have such relief after being largely isolated for three years. Shiki understands this and will just sit in silence with him, sometimes holding his hand, until it goes away.

He will unconsciously shed tears too, the thing is that, he doesn’t look like he’s crying tears of joy or even if he’s feeling joy at all, because that’s how detached his expression and how he feels inside is. So the others, especially the twisters, often mistook him to be crying because he’s sad about something, which caused him to get embarassed/a little guilty for making people worry when he was simply feeling overwhelmed with emotions and having a hard time showing them (because he was so used with repressing them) this will often cause him to withdraw and hide somewhere until his emerging emotions could stabilize…in which case, Shiki will often chase him and assures him that because of their psychic connection, she understands what he really feels inside (including his subsequent guilt over having grown so dysfunctional at showing emotions that what he feels inside and what he presents outside looks mismatched) she assures him that he will gradually regain his ability to get his expressions and his emotions more in sync.
